Jay is a graduate of the University of Windsor where he earned a Bachelor of Human Kinetics and an Honours in Sport Management. He was hired 15 years ago as a Sports Co-ordinator in the Campus For Kids Program. Jay previously worked with Arena Corp for 6 years where he helped manage the Windsor, London, and Cambrigde Ice Parks. He won 3 Junior C All Ontario Championships as a hockey player with the Belle River Canadians.
Ted is a former St.Clair College student where he studied Journalism and Business Administation Marketing. During his years as a student he was a member of the Student Athletic Association serving as President for 2 years and was also a member of the Varsity Basketball team (4 years). After leaving as a student he served as the Men's Varsity Basketball Assistant Coach for 1 season. Upon his return he spent one year as the Athletic Assistant before taking his current position as Athletic Co-ordinator.
Wayne Campbell Sport Therapist & Equipment Coordinator
Wayne has a Bachelor of Human Kinetics from the University of Windsor and a Diploma from Sheridan College in Sports Injury Management. He is also a member of the Canadian Athletic Therapist Association. In addition, Wayne is an instructor of Sports Injury Prevention and Care. Wayne has been the Head Therapist and Equipment Manager at the College for 20 years.
Jeff is in his fifteenth year with the Athletic Department and is also a graduate of St. Clair College from the Computer Science Technology 3 year program. He recently obtained a certificate in Adult Education from Brock University and is pursuing a Bachelor’s in Education. Jeff is a provincial HIGH FIVE Trainer and is working towards more certifications with the Lifesaving Society, the Canadian Red Cross, and I Can Swim programs to further his education in Water Safety, Lifesaving as well as healthy child development in youth recreational programs. Jeff is the main contact for community events and rentals within the recreational facilities as well as being actively involved in the New SportsPlex operations promoting our Saints Athletics programs.
Maggio joins the Saints Varsity program having already been involved as an Instructor with the Personal Trainer Preparation Course along with Firefighter Fitness Course at St. Clair College. He has local experience with the Windsor Spitfires along with training several top level hockey players. Maggio owns an Honours Bachelor of Human Kinetics as well as a Bachelor of Education from the University of Windsor.
In addition, Maggio holds many certifications including Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist from the National Strength & Conditioning Association, Certified Trainer Level 2 for the OMHA and a Certified Metabolic Advisor from the Metabolic Typing Education Centre, Scientific Core Conditioning Certificate, Scientific Back Conditioning Certificate, and Program Design Certificate from the Chek Institute. He is also Certified in Sport Strength 1 and Certified in Bosu Integrated Balance Twist Conditioning.
A Personal Trainer by trade Maggio will put his talents and experience to work with all 12 Varsity teams to help the Saints gain an edge over their opponents.
The St. Clair College Athletic Department is pleased to announce the addition of Ken Ambrose as the new Varsity Recruiting Coordinator. Ambrose will be working closely with all fourteen Saints varsity programs assisting each coaching staff’s efforts to attract the best student-athletes locally, provincially and nationally.
St. Clair’s Director of Advancement, Athletics and Foundation Christina Gatto commented, “This is a tremendous move for the Varsity Program and we feel Ken will be able to help our teams compete at the highest level. He has the experience to work with our coaches and the energy to meet the needs of the incoming students. We feel having a dedicated person in this area will make a big impact to our success.”
Ambrose is a retired teacher with more than 40 years of basketball coaching experience at the elementary, high school, club, regional and provincial level with ties to both the Windsor area and the other end of Essex County in Leamington. In addition he coached many other sports as well as youth baseball in the summer months with the Riverside Minor Baseball Association. He was both the founder and President of the Riverside Falcon Basketball Association and the Leamington Cougars Basketball Association. Ambrose has served with the Ontario Basketball Association on the Ranking and Seeding Committee and coached at the MDP level with the St. Clair Region team also working with that team at the 2010 Ontario Summer Games in Sudbury.
Prior to taking this position Ambrose was the Varsity Women's Basketball Head Coach at St. Clair College for two seasons (2011-13) and led the Saints to the play-offs in his final year.
