The St. Clair College Men’s Curling team is off to compete in the CCAA 2012 Curling Invitational Championship. The event is being hosted by Fleming College in Peterborough from March 21-24. The CCAA has not held a curling championship since 1990. This event is the first step in hopefully making Curling an official CCAA sport in the near future.
There are 8 teams taking part in the men’s division including five from Ontario, two from Alberta and one from Prince Edward Island. Representing St. Clair are skip Sean Boyle, vice Jordan Way, second Dale Winch, lead Alex Zappio and alternate Jeff Smith. The Saints are coached by Jim Brackett and Max Fusco. St. Clair’s first game of the event is Wednesday at 12:30 pm when they take on the Sault College Cougars.
