July 17, 2019 (Windsor, ON) The St. Clair College Department of Athletics and men’s volleyball program is pleased to announce the signing of two top recruits for the 2019-20 season. The men that will be joining the program are Simran Pahal and Jackson Pichurski.

Pahal is a Waterloo native where he attended Huron Heights High School. While there Simran was named the team’s most valuable player four times and was twice named a WCSSAA Volleyball second team All Star. The 5'8” setter also plays club volleyball for the KW Predators. With the Predators he was a four time provincial bronze winner. Pahal will be taking the 3 year Business Administration Marketing Program. Simran is looking forward to joining the Saints.  “I have heard great things about the Marketing program along with the very promising volleyball program and great coaches and facilities. It was a no brainer for me to choose St. Clair, " stated Pahal.

Pichurski is from Calgary, Alberta where he attended Master’s Academy & College. While there his school won the high school city Championship in Grade 12 and finished second in grades 10 and 11.  Jackson is also a member of the Smokin’ Aces Club program. Pichurski is a 6’0” outside hitter who will be taking the 3 year Business Administration Marketing Program.  Jackson is excited to come to St. Clair. “I chose St. Clair because of the drive the team and coaching staff have, on and off the court and the open and welcoming community the College and the team have to offer. With the addition of a new coaching staff I cannot wait to see where we go from here as a team over the next few years.”

St. Clair rookie head coach Shawn Reaume is looking forward to adding these two players to the team next year. "We are very excited to be adding Simran and Jackson to our roster for the upcoming season. Their shared competitiveness and passion for volleyball will be extremely valuable assets on and off the court as we work to transform this program. I expect that their experiences as leaders on their respective high school and club teams will be immediate and they will be direct contributors to our success this upcoming season. They each bring a willingness to learn, adapt, and improve and I look forward to working with such talented young student athletes for years to come. As well, we are excited to have had several other athletes visit the campus from outside of the Windsor-Essex area that are considering coming to play for the Saints in 2020-21.”

The Saints qualified for the playoffs last season but lost their first round match 3-0 to the Georgian Grizzlies.
