Windsor, ON – The St. Clair College Cross Country team added a strong local runner to its men’s side in 2021 with Kingsville’s Matt Lafleur committing to the Saints.

The Kingsville District High School product was a 10th place finisher at the 2019 WECSSAA Championship meet and has been working with the University of Windsor Athletics Club.  Lafleur also was 7th at the annual Jerry Slavik Memorial Thrill on the Hill in 2019 and 2nd place amongst the Grade 11 entries.  He posted good finishes in Track as well with a WECSSAA 2nd place in the 3km advancing to SWOSSA where he finished 3rd

Saints Head Coach Paul Boots stated, “Matt is one of the most talented runners in Essex County and we are very excited to have him join our St. Clair Cross Country Family.  Matt has a real passion for running and he will fit it in well with our team.”

Boots continued, “We have been to the National podium the last two seasons and hope to be there again in 2021.  We know Matt will play a significant role in the team's success moving forward as he joins an already talented roster.”

Lafleur will be enrolled in St. Clair’s Powerline Technician program this fall.
