Softball Make it 7 in a Row

Windsor, ON – The St. Clair College Women's Softball team is on 7-game win streak thanks to a doubleheader sweep of Seneca College (North York) Saturday afternoon at Mic Mac Park.  The Lady Saints squeaked out a 2-1 win in the opener and then capped it with an 11-0 mercy in 5 innings to push their record to 12-6 which ties them in the win column for first place in the OCAA standings.

In the opening game St. Clair pitcher Olivia Elliott (Oakville, ON) gave up only 4 hits in a complete game win on the mound with no walks and 6 strikeouts.  Third baseman Jordan Taylor (Lasalle, ON/St. Thomas of Villanova) had three hits including a double while scoring both runs for the Saints and was aided by first baseman Rya Cowan (Lasalle, ON/Sandwich) who had both RBI's with a single and a double. 

In the second game the Saints let the bats loose with 12 hits in just 4 innings punctuated by Cowan who had a double and homerun that accounted for 5 RBI's.  St. Clair starter Hannah Desrosiers (Windsor, ON/Kennedy) earned the shutout win with only 2 hits surrendered in 4 innings of work. 

The Saints complete the weekend home stand with a doubleheader on Sunday at Mic Mac Park against Mohawk College (Hamilton) with game times of 1:00pm and 3:00pm on Little League Diamond #2.
