Softball Ends Season with Bronze Medal

London, ON – The St. Clair College Women's Softball team lost 3-2 Saturday morning to Durham College (Oshawa) and were awarded the Bronze Medal at the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association Provincial Championship tournament being hosted by Fanshawe College in London.

The Saints had trouble getting on the board after surrendering a single run in the 4th and two runs in the 6th inning. Never giving in St. Clair rallied for two runs and had two runners aboard before the final out was recorded. St. Clair catcher Lauren Schram (Windsor, ON/St. Joseph's) was named Player of the Game after providing a hit at the plate. The Saints pitcher Olivia Elliott (Oakville, ON) took the loss after surrendering 3 earned runs on 8 hits and 3 walks but struck out 3 batters. Shortstop Jenna Hillman (Windsor, ON/Tecumseh Vista Academy) had three hits with a run scored and represented St. Clair as a Championship All-Star team selection.

Durham went on to claim the Silver Medal Saturday afternoon losing to Gold Medal winner Humber College (Etobicoke) in the Championship round. St. Clair finishes the 2019 campaign with a 16-11 overall record this past season. In the 18-year history of the program the Saints Softball team has earned a Provincial or National Medal in 15 of those seasons including 4 Provincial Gold and 1 CCSA National Gold.
