Men's Golf Add Top Local Recruit

(Windsor, ON) The St. Clair College Department of Athletics and the varsity golf program is pleased to announce the signing of Cale Marontate for the 2024-25 season.

Marontate is from Harrow and is graduating from Kingsville District High School. He is currently enrolled in the three year Graphic Design program at St. Clair.

Cale has an extensive amount of Junior Golf tournament experience. He was the U15 Golf Ontario Bantam Champion and has won 6 times on the Jamieson Tour. Marontate was WECSSAA Champion in 2023 and has qualified for OFSAA twice. He also has competed in several Golf Canada and Golf Ontario events in recent years.

Cale is looking forward to becoming a Saint. "I had options else where for golf but I wanted to stay local if possible and also continuing playing junior hockey. St. Clair was accommodating in allowing me to play both hockey and golf, so I accepted the offer to join the Men's Golf Team.  It will be a busy fall but I will be doing what I enjoy with one of the up and coming college golf teams in Canada."

Head Coach Kevin Corriveau is excited to add to Marontate to his roster. "Cale has the junior competitive experience and success we are always looking for. He's a multi discipline athlete which is always a competitive benefit. He is going to make an excellent addition to our team. We are thrilled he has chosen St. Clair College for his academic and athletic pursuits."

The St. Clair men's team won an OCAA team bronze medal and had a 4th place at Nationals finish last fall.

The men's team recently took part in the Golf Canada Canadian University/College Championship for the first time ever in Sudbury.
