Windsor, ON – The St. Clair College Men's Basketball team began their 2024 exhibition season with a pair of home wins over some capable competition this weekend at the SportsPlex. The Saints hosted NCAA Division III Heidelberg University (Tiffin, OH) on Saturday handing the visitors a 106-85 loss before overcoming an early deficit to win 82-77 against Durham College (Oshawa) on Sunday.
3rd year transfer guard Kyle Brown-Fazekas (Windsor, ON/Kennedy) scored 22 points to lead St. Clair on Saturday with teammate Mazin Tiea (Windsor, ON/Kennedy) delivering a double-double performance with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Ahmad Khazaleh (Windsor, ON/Kennedy) had 11 points off the bench for the Saints while Jacob Masters (Toronto, ON) and Darnelle Peddie (Pickering, ON) each chipped in with 10 points. All 14 dressed players were able to record a basket for St. Clair in the win over Heidelberg.
On Sunday St. Clair climbed out of an early 13-point deficit as Tiea led them with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 5 steals. 3rd year transfer guard Amari Frye (Ypsilanti, MI) came off the bench to score 16 points for the Saints and Galdo Tutu (Windsor, ON) reached double figures with 12 points.
St. Clair will be in Montreal next weekend to compete in the Joel Tyrell Classic Tournament hosted by Dawson College.
