Women’s Basketball Winless in Quebec

Montreal, QC – The St. Clair College Women's Basketball team were unable to record a win in Quebec over Thanksgiving Weekend dropping three decisions at the Joel Tyrell Classic hosted by Dawson College in Montreal.  The Saints lost 66-36 to host Dawson on Friday and were downed 56-45 against Collège Montmorency (Laval, QC) on Saturday followed by a 63-46 loss at Vanier College (St. Laurent) on Sunday.

St. Clair had no players reach double figures on Friday against Dawson, but Kaelyn Batten (LaSalle, ON/St. Thomas of Villanova) led her team with 9 points while Peri Colthurst (Windsor, ON/St. Joseph's) scored 8 points to go with 7 rebounds off the bench.

On Saturday Janae Smith (Warren, MI) had 8 points and added 7 rebounds for the Saints while rookie forward Fiona Lukassen (Windsor, ON/Holy Names) equaled her point value.

Sunday's final game saw Batten notch 13 points as the lone St. Clair player to eclipse double figures in the weekend matchups.

St. Clair opens their OCAA West Division regular season at home on Friday against Conestoga College (Kitchener) with a 6:00pm tipoff.
