Women's Basketball Hungry For Weekend Home Court Wins

Windsor, ON – The St. Clair College Basketball teams will host Mohawk College (Hamilton) Friday night at the SportsPlex and the St. Clair Alumni Association is sponsoring free spectator admission for the doubleheader featuring the Women's game at 6:00pm followed by the Men's game at 8:00pm.

The St. Clair Alumni Association is also sponsoring free draws Friday night along with food vouchers for all alumni in attendance during the festivities while the Saints Student Athletic Association Inc. will be giving away items to spectators throughout the games. 

The weekend will also embrace the return of the Hoopin' Around the Clock event run by the Highrise Basketball organization.  Games will start at the SportsPlex Friday afternoon and will be continuously played until Sunday evening which will also include the Saints matchups on Saturday against Niagara College (Welland) that tip at 2:00pm (Women) and 4:00pm (Men). 

The St. Clair Women (2-3) are in 6th Place in the OCAA's West Division and chasing 4th Place Mohawk (4-2) and 2nd Place Niagara (4-1).  The Saints are ranked 9th in Ontario while Niagara and Mohawk are 5th and 6th respectively.  3rd year transfer guard Kaelyn Batten (Windsor, ON/St. Thomas of Villanova) leads St. Clair in scoring at 18.2ppg which stands 3rd overall in the province and adds 5.4 rebounds per game to go with 3.4 assists per game.  4th year guard Shae-Lyn Murphy (Windsor, ON/Holy Names) leads the Saints in rebounding at 7.0 per contest to go with 9.5ppg and a team best 5.0 assists per game.
