Women's Volleyball Add Recruits from Alberta
(Windsor, ON) The St. Clair College Department of Athletics and women's volleyball program is pleased to announce the commitment of two more top recruits for the 2025-26 season. The Saints have signed Lili Surgenor and Emily Cortes.
Surgenor is a 5'11 outside hitter from Lake Newell, Alberta where she will be graduating from Brooks Composite High School this spring. Lili has extensive club experience playing for the Dinos Volleyball Club. Surgenor will be taking the Fitness and Health Promotion program.
Lili is excited to continue her volleyball journey with the Saints. "I chose St. Clair as I loved the team culture, saw potential in myself growing with the program and shared the same goals and values that Coach Milling and her team practice."
Head Coach Julie Ann Milling is looking forward to Lili joining the program. "Lili will bring strength to us as an outside hitter. She has great experience to be strong in multiple positions on the court. Lili is joined by fellow 25/26 recruit Brooke Vickers, both playing for the same Dinos Volleyball Club."
Cortes is a 5'5 libero from Edmonton, Alberta where she graduated from Strathcona High School. Emily has a large amount of club experience with a few programs in Alberta. Cortes will be taking the three year Music Theatre Performance program at St. Clair.
Coach Milling knows Emily will be a great addition to the team. "Emily comes with a high IQ of the game and what we are looking for in a libero. Her technical skills are something that really stands out."
Emily can't wait to get started and be a part of Saints Nation. "I chose St. Clair as it offered me the perfect mix of athletics and academics. I loved the team's family culture and competitive atmosphere. After being welcomed by both the volleyball team and music theatre department with open arms, I knew it was the place where I would be well supported to follow my biggest dreams."
